Day 10: Siguenza to Cogolludo, Spain, 41 miles; 268 miles total

—Departing Our Casa Rural Hosts in Siguenza. Clearly, all casa rurals are not rural. This one was excellent.

—Dog of the Day. While many doge we encounter are timid around strangers, this one loved attention, offering me a full face wash.

—Perhaps North Carolina's Answer to the Birth-Gender Toilet Wars. Kings and Queens?

—Man in a Suit with Brief Case. Remember the Rose Bowl Parade MBA Drill Team? Perhaps a potential member.

—La Mancha. I just had to say it: No man in view.

—Village Fountain.

—Plaza Featuring the Man in a Suit with Brief Case

—Hilltop Castle in the Distance. Stuart and John.

—Riders Catching Up. John, Stuart, Stephen.

—Village Market #1. Jadraque, Castille-La Mancha, Spain

—Village Market #2. Jadraque, Castille-La Mancha, Spain

—Village Market #3. Jadraque, Castille-La Mancha, Spain

—Village Market #4. Jadraque, Castille-La Mancha, Spain. New clothes below; washing above.

—John adds a 5th Amigo.

—Bridge

—Red Bell Peppers.  Yes, I picked one for our evening tea.

—Sheep. No shepherd to be found, and the potential dog of the day disappeared over the ridge.

—Grande Sunflower.  We see many fields of sunflowers, most are brown with heads bent, seemingly ready for harvest. However, this field must have been on steroids. The heads were more than 12 inches in diameter.

Regarding Cogolludo, Spain, the square is dominated by this odd building at the lower end of the square (actually, a triangle-shaped plaza).
The commonly called Palace of the Dukes of Medinaceli (SpanishPalacio de los Duques de Medinaceli) is a Renaissance palace located in CogolludoSpain.
One of the oldest titles of the House of Medinaceli is the marquisate of Cogolludo, traditionally borne to the heir to the Dukedom of Medinaceli itself. The palace of the marquises of Cogolludo is a gem of pure Spanish renaissance architecture, constructed between c. 1402 and 1502.
It is one of a number of monuments most closely associated with the Dukes of Medinaceli.
